About Lummus Park
This is the beach on the postcards: wide pale sand, the city's famous painted lifeguard huts, and the palms of Lummus Park separating it from the Art Deco hotels and cafés of Ocean Drive. Ocean Rescue has its headquarters here, and the park adds 18 volleyball courts and an outdoor gym.
It's the busiest and liveliest stretch of Miami Beach, especially at weekends and during spring break and events, so come early for space near a lifeguard tower. The park uses dimmable LED lighting to keep light off the beach for nesting sea turtles.
