About South Pointe

At the very south end of Miami Beach, South Pointe swaps Ocean Drive's bustle for lawns, a promenade and a playground by the water. The beach runs north from the Government Cut jetty, and the pier is the best seat in town for watching cruise ships and freighters slide through the channel.

It's one of the two places in the city to borrow a free beach wheelchair, and Ocean Rescue guards the beach. Families picnic on the grass; joggers and cyclists use the path.
