Peak season (our take)

Our take on February

Still dry and still peak season. Presidents' Day weekend and the Boat Show make mid-February one of the priciest stretches of winter in Miami Beach.

For the beach in February

  • The water is brisk: fine for a swim on a sunny afternoon, but bring a towel layer; the bay beaches run cooler than the ocean this time of year.
  • Mostly dry; cold fronts can bring breezy days with rough surf and higher rip-current risk.
  • Even in winter the midday UV Index in Miami is around 4, moderate (EPA): sunscreen still matters.
